Pioneer Transcription Services has been a California transcription company since 1990. We were originally located in the San Francisco Bay Area in Santa Rosa, California where we provided services to local businesses and students at Sonoma State University. We later relocated to Reno, Nevada where we serviced the local businesses (attorneys and private investigators), as well as students at University of Nevada at Reno. Four years later we relocated back to California, near Sacramento, where we have been based ever since. This was at the same time as the Internet took off, so we were able to pursue clients from out of our immediate local area.

Are our california transcription services only for those in california?

While we are based in California and we have many clients in both Northern and Southern California, the internet has made it possible for us to provide transcription services to clients throughout the United States, such as Indiana, New York, New Jersey, Ohio, Illinois, Arizona, Texas, Idaho, Minnesota, Florida and even beyond.  We actually have one client in South Africa who has his office in Paris, France.  It truly is a small world these days.

To send us digital audio or video files is fast and easy. Here are our simple instructions for doing so.

Go to our online transcription services upload page.

Click on the blue Upload a File link in the middle of the page.

Type in your name, e-mail address, etc. (contact information), a subject title and a description (names in interviews, any formatting requirements are good things to include here).

Click the "Select Files to Send Regular Upload" button at the bottom of the screen.

You will be taken to a new screen where you will be able to use the "browse" keys to find your digital audio files. Once you have attached the files you want to send click "Upload and send" at the bottom of the screen.

Our rates are very simple. They are $1.75 per audio minute for standard turnaround time (two to three days) or $2.00 per audio minute for rush service (one day).  This way you know exactly what you will pay before you even upload a file.
